Rebecca Beidler: Rebecca is the Field
Coordinator for the Lamoille Valley Gleaning Group. She
has a passion for food; growing, cooking, and eating it.
She has gained farming and gardening experience working
at a number of small scale perennial nurseries and vegetable
farms in Vermont and Oregon. Rebecca and her husband have
operated a small vegetable and medicinal herb farm on
her brother’s dairy farm. To farm commercially is
still their dream. Working with Salvation Farms to connect
local farm resources, willing volunteers, and those in
need of food fulfills her desire to feed the local community
and stay connected to Earth.
Jen
O’Donnell: Jen came to Vermont with a special
interest in fiber that led to a formal education in Sustainable
Agriculture from Sterling College where she joined with
Theresa as co-founder and assistant director assisting
in the creation of and overseeing the implementation of
Salvation Farms. Jen has a variety of on-farm experiences
with a special interest in agricultural education. She
has been a long time employee with the Craftsbury Outdoor
Center, a cross-country skiing and summer sculling center.
Shelby
Hammond: Shelby has been volunteering with Salvation
Farms since August 2005. The bulk of her time has been
spent on fundraising, promotion, and administrative tasks.
She also brings skills in event planning and volunteer/farmer
recruitment and relationship building. Shelby is very
proud to be part of Salvation Farms and its important
work to strengthen our communities. Shelby is an organizer
at Rural Vermont, a nonprofit advocacy group for farmers,
and lives in Calais.
Jim
Eikenberry: Jim is a Soil Conservationist with
the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and is
passionate about building connections between people and
the land as well as addressing the root causes of hunger
and food insecurity. He is a resident of Johnson, VT and
has degrees from Warren Wilson College and the University
of Vermont .
Keith
Morris: Keith is an organic farmer, designer,
natural builder, and educator who facilitates healthy
and healing human ecosystems. His work combines human
community building with wild ecological restoration and
diverse, nutrient-dense food production. He is Permaculture
Instructor on the faculties of Sterling College, the Yestermorrow
Design Build School, and the University of Vermont, and
has worked for USAID in Nigeria and Ghana.
Kee
Gillen: Newly transplanted to the Wolcott, Vermont
area. Kee comes to Salvation Farms Lamoille Valley with
10 years of experience living on a communal organic farm
in Marlington, West Virginia. He is passionate about Salvation
Farms and hopes to use his skills to further its mission.
