On the grounds of Salvation Farms headquarters, in the quiet country of North Wolcott, we are pleased to announce the vision and planning of an Education, Demonstration, and Donation (EDD) Garden. This will also include a spring workshop series and late summer workshop series. Most workshops will be agriculture, nutrition, or sustainability based. We will be inviting the public to get involved for many occasions during 2007 to learn about starting seeds, garden planning, maintaining a compost pile, preserving foods, harvesting & weeding, seed saving, the list goes on…. This garden will also allow us the opportunity to engage donation recipients that may be unable to glean with Salvation Farms but are interested in an agricultural experience. We look forward to sharing major EDD Garden responsibilities with any intern who joins us within the
growing and planning seasons.
