Field & Delivery Volunteer Agreement

Everyone who is a gleaning or delivery volunteer with Salvation Farms must read, understand, and sign this volunteer agreement.

-I understand that any “Salvation Farm” is under no obligation to donate food to gleaners/volunteers. Picking food at a particular farm is a privilege and not a right. However, Salvation Farms will encourage gleaners to sample crops that are being gleaned, fresh in the field.

-I will arrive 5 minutes early and wait at the designated meeting/parking area until a field leader arrives with instructions. If I have arrived late I will not enter the fields alone; I will wait to be retrieved by a fellow gleaner.

- I will wait to enter any farm fields until I have received instruction regarding a specific glean.

- I will work to the best of my ability to follow all guidelines set out for me regarding the host farm; its produce, land, and equipment. And I will work at a pace that is comfortable for me.

- I will glean only the crops assigned to me and only occupy the area designated for gleaning.

-I will be courteous to all field leaders, gleaners, farmers, and donation recipients. I will enjoy myself; showing respect to all others to ensure that they enjoy themselves too.

- I will be an active listener and learner. I will offer others assistance in the field when I can.

- I will make sure gleaning areas are clear of any trash and all Salvation Farms’ supplies are loaded into a field leader’s vehicle.

-I will be expected to volunteer only what I find most suited for my life.

-As a donation delivery person, I will be pleasant and presentable when dropping off produce donations at any site.

-When delivering, I will retrieve donations at the arranged time & location. I will respect the property at which donations are stored and follow procedural instructions related to accessing this storage.

- As a delivery person I will show pride in my volunteer work and be available to answer any questions from donation sites or recipients regarding Salvation Farms or the produce donated.

- Also when delivering I will be sure that the site is aware of the drop or leave the donation in a pre-chosen area at the site.

This agreement has been read and explained to me. I understand it and agree to abide by it. My failure to follow above guidelines may result in the termination of my involvement with all Salvation Farms activities.
